Instructions for Patients Having a Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
A Sigmoidoscopy is the examination of the entire rectum, sigmoid colon and may include examination of a portion of the descending colon.
Bowel Preparation
Please purchase 2 fleet enemas (non-oil-containing) at any pharmacy and use according to package direction. Use 1 fleet enema at bedtime the night before your procedure. This will cause a bowel movement. Use the second fleet enema 1 1/2 hours prior to leaving home for your procedure. You may have a light diet.
**Failure to attend your booked procedure without adequate notice may result in a $50.00 charge.
